TOM WRIGGLESWORTH. With a disarmingly charming delivery and unforgettable appearance, this Yorkshire funny man became a national have-a-go-hero when he rescued a little old lady from the jaws of a Virgin train ticket inspector; only to be arrested for begging.
His subsequent story of the event secured Tom several awards including the Chortle Best Show Award, and a nomination for the main Edinburgh Comedy Award. This led to a sell out tour of the UK, and runs at the New Zealand Comedy Festival and prestigious Montreal Comedy Festival.
Following this, Tom recorded two series of ‘Tom Wrigglesworth’s Open Letters’ for BBC Radio 4, tackling consumer issues in his own hilarious way and winning a highly acclaimed Sony Award for best Radio Comedy along the way.
His next radio project, ‘Tom Wrigglesworth’s Hang Ups’ for BBC Radio 4 is currently in its second series and focuses on telephone conversations with his parents.
As a natural and engaging television presenter, Tom put his technical background to use when he appeared on ‘Electric Dreams’ for BBC 2, advising a modern family as they fast forwarded through three decades of technology.
He then presented Engineering Giants, also for BBC 2, which saw Tom climbing aboard an oil platform, servicing a passenger ferry and dismantling a jumbo-jet whilst interviewing various engineers to keep the viewers informed as the three major strip downs unfolded.
Further television credits include being a regular contributor on The Discovery Channel where he explains the science behind crowd sourced stunts and experiments on the popular show ‘You have been warned’
TV also includes ‘Edinburgh Comedy Show’ and ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’ and radio credits include the Sony Award winning Radio 4 show ‘Tom Wrigglesworth’s Open Letters’.
“Destined for the dizzy heights” NME “The ultimate crowd pleaser” The Guardian
“Comedy giant…Tom Wrigglesworth is definitely one of the big name comedians of the future” Time Out
Australia's WAYNE DEAKIN headlines all the big Aussie clubs and tours across North America but is based in London (“It’s just simple economics. Britain’s where they’ll spend every red cent they’ve got on booze and entertainment.” ) His amiable, laconic style works to draw you in but there’s plenty of biting social commentary here too, so Wayne will have you both laughing and thinking.
New York tours have included Carolines, New York’s premier comedy venue and headlining the New York Improv. Besides being known for his Melbourne Comedy Festival shows, Wayne has also appeared at the prestigious Montreal Comedy Festival as well as sevan nights performing in Vegas.
Wayne also tours with the Australian Defence Forces and British Army in East Timor, Sinai, Cyprus and various tours of the Middle East, Iraq and Afghanistan. Scary but edifying, these remain career highlights.
Wayne starred in and produced Channel 31’s highest ever rating show, Tiger TV, appeared in Comedy Channel’s “Stand Up Australia” and US reality show “Last Comic Standing”.
Wayne is currently campaigning to have Prince Phillip made Prime Minister.
“Had the crowd in the palm of his hand.” Herald Sun “My jaw hurts from laughing, that was funny!” Beat
ALUN COCHRANE is a no-nonsense comedian who specialises in funny nonsense. Much of his comedy begins simply as something he’s seen, heard or felt in his own life, or in the street, or the kitchen, or anywhere and from that it blossoms into a highly amusing anecdote or a strange flight of fancy.
He is a master at observational comedy, telling tales about eating, sleeping, daydreaming, driving, being a son, father, brother, husband, friend, mortgage-holder, clothes-wearer, car-owner, radio-listener, train-traveller, door-opener (and closer), alcohol-consumer, hangover-sufferer, newspaper flicker-through-er, occasional football watcher, and general liver of life. In short; he gets material from anywhere he wanders in mind or body.
TV appearances include Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Soccer A.M, Live At The Comedy Store and he’s often seen on 8 Out of 10 Cats and Mock The Week. He can be heard on Frank Skinner’s Absolute Radio Show every Saturday morning from 8am and regularly on Radio 4 with credits including The Now Show, Just A Minute, Dilemma, Loose Ends, and Lee Mack And Friends.
“…rarely have such random musings been elevated to this level of hilarious artistry.” The Scotsman
“By the end of the show, some people in the audience literally can’t stop laughing. Expect Alun Cochrane to be filling arenas soon.” The Independent
‘A master storyteller, holding the audience before dropping a simple but exploding punchline’ Metro
