We’ve compiled another great evening of top-class entertainment from all over the world for your pleasure and amusement. These are artistes of the highest calibre filmed at the very the top of their game.

We’ve got internationally-renowned singers and musicians, exuberant dancing, jaw-dropping speciality acts, comedians of the first order. You want dangerous knife-throwing? We’ve got it. You want side-splitting slapstick – we’ve got that, too. And we have Judy Garland, Julie Andrews (in slinky, sexy mode) and the sweet voices of Don MacLaine and Rufus Wainwright. Meanwhile Carmen Miranda is indulged in her penchant for big bananas in an hilariously suggestive Busby Berkley routine.

The subtitler for one operatic singer in our show is doing his best to translate the lyrics but obviously needs to put his hearing aid in. The results are astounding. Dancing for us will be the late, great Debbie Reynolds in her youthful, bundle-of-energy period. From the world of ballet, Rudolph Nureyev with an extremely unusual partner – and his modern-day successor from the Bolshoi, Sergei Polunin.

Here to amuse are Ken Dodd, Count Arthur Strong and the cream of Hollywood in a fantastic scene of mayhem and hilarity. As well as showbiz immortals we have those who have passed into history but deserve not to be forgotten. Skills honed over many years on the variety circuit are put to good use here by acts that simply wouldn’t be able to find an outlet today’s showbiz, but whose inspiration sometimes verged on genius.
