The largest family focused fitness festival in the UK is set to take place over the August bank holiday weekend, in Epsom, Surrey. The all day festival will offer adults and children alike a diverse range of events to take part in, plus plenty of fun fitness activities to try. There will also be live music, food and drink refreshments and hundreds of different stalls open throughout the day to create a fun-filled festival vibe.
There will be three ‘colourful’ fun run events taking place throughout the day, with a 5km and a 10km route for adults to choose from, and a shorter 2.4km course open for children aged 6 to 15. Runners will have their mind taken off the distance they are covering by organisers and spectators spraying coloured paint and water at them as they make their way around the course.
There will also be a ‘Superman’ and ‘Superwoman’ competition to find the strongest man and woman at the event, plus a ‘Fitness Challenge’, which will test speed, strength and stamina across a series of mini-challenges.
The Fitness Festival’s main arena will be action packed with a wide variety of demos and activities to get involved in. From Parkour (free-running) to Bokwa, high intensity Insanity classes as well as various games and competitions on the tennis courts, there will be a whole host of exercise activities for people to find out more about and to give a try.
In addition, there will be a special ‘active area’, for adults and kids to enjoy, with ‘Gladiator’ and ‘Wipeout’ style games, an inflatable obstacle course, a rock climbing wall and temporary beach, complete with a volleyball court.
The Fitness Festival will be raising money for a number of charities, including The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, Hoop UK, The Sports Foundation and MacMillan.
