THE FESTIVAL OF HEAT, LONDON’S CHILLI FESTIVAL RETURNS TO THE RED MARKET

Heat-Seekers from everywhere gather together on Sunday, 27th September for the return of much the celebrated Festival of Heat, London’s Chilli Festival. Taking place at The Red Market, Shoreditch, the festival is set to blow the socks off its guests, for the third year running. This family friendly event celebrates all things chilli including growing, cooking and eating food from all corners of the world, including ‘aunties’ cooking right here in London.

Promoting aspiring and established talent, the festival brings together the very best produces, market traders and chefs from around the UK. A few big names include, The Jay Curry Festival: Sri Lankan Pickles & Preserves, Mushemi Fire, Zambian Chilli Products, Sea Spring Seeds, Grim Reaper Foods Ltd, to name just a few, who will showcase their finest fiery foods, including jams, sauces and pickles.

Watch, listen and learn as Flavour Gurus from The World of Zing and Made in Hackney reveal their secrets in the Festival Kitchen through master classes, workshops and demonstrations. Topics include, ‘Growing the Perfect Chilli’, ‘Cooking with Chilli to achieve the perfect Heat’ and ‘How to Make a Good Curry’. There is also the opportunity to pick up some top tips on sending your own hot sauce to market - from production to shelf.

The Festival Kitchen Debate, special guests, to be announced. Come and have your say on why we should buy from local producers and be asking where our food comes from.

Local DJs and bands will really set the festival a glow by providing music from across the world, expect anything from live folk music to Bangladeshi dancing, what ever your taste, there’s something for everyone.

In keeping with The Festival of Heat’s ethos of being accessible for all, especially families and the local community, entrance is just £7.50 per person. Children under the age of 16years have free entry, but must be accompanied by a responsible adult who has booked tickets and stated how many children they will be accompanying.
