Description

Every last Friday of each month, The Comedy Wire brings a jam packed show full of laughter and class acts to The Druids Head pub in Kingston.

Hosted by The Comedy Wire's Ryan Dalton, each show we have a mix of pro and up and coming acts meaning the nights is full of variety.

This month our line up is smoking hot! We have Jenny Collier. Jenny moved from the Welsh mountains to the Big Smoke in 2010 and has since embarked upon a career in stand up comedy. Highlight: Appearing on a BBC Radio Wales panel show with Jo Brand. Low point: After a gig, an audience member saying 'You should be a stripper' (Both secretly highlights).

She has written for BBC Radio 4's The News Quiz, Huffington Post and Glamour Magazine and has traveled (parts of) the world with her comedy. She has performed in Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore, Switzerland and most recently in Australia where she won the Percy Award for most tickets sold in 'The Imaginarium', (over 1900 tickets) during the Adelaide Fringe.

In August 2016 she performed her debut hour at the Edinburgh Fringe, 'Jen-Hur' which received reviews such as '★★★★★ An Excellent comedic work' - Edfest Mag and '★★★★ A brilliant show and well worth a watch' - Arts Award Voice

We also have the fantastic Catherine Bohart. Catherine started performing stand-up in 2015 and since then has enjoyed a rapid rise through the ranks of UK and Irish comedy. In 2016, she was a finalist in both the BBC New Comedy Awards and Funny Women, drawing praise in the final of the former for having “a distinctive voice and a story you’d like to hear” (Chortle) and in the latter for being “pretty much the perfect comedy package” (Beyond The Joke). Catherine has just been named on the BBC's New Talent Hotlist 2017.

Also joining us will be Kelsey de Almeida. A comic that has supported Stephen K Amos on tour for the last year, and Neil O'Rourke, who was a finalist in the 2015 So You Think You're Funny competition.

Grab your tickets to see these 4 wonderful acts live at a wonderful Kingston pub.
