THE COLOUR CHEMISTS WORKSHOP FOR KIDS AGE 5-12

From Free

Location

Date

Aug 20 2017 11:00 - 12:30

Description

Come and join artists from Bold Tendencies and musicians from The Multi-Story Orchestra for this free workshop!

Together, we’ll explore what happens when we play with colour and engage it through all our senses: how might we taste, smell and hear colour?

Join horn player Jonathan Farey and viola player Jennifer Coombes in our ‘colour laboratory’ to experiment with hearing colour! You’ll have the chance to create your very own ‘colour score’ as well as creating new sounds and music inspired by colour.

This workshop is part of the new MY MUSEUM on-site exhibition The Colour Chemists. The Colour Chemists is inspired by hi boo i love you, Bold Tendencies’ iconic pink staircase entrance to the site by the artist Simon Whybray.

MY MUSEUM is a project run by Bold Tendencies which teaches primary schoolchildren how to create and direct their own museum exhibitions. This year’s on-site exhibition has been realised in collaboration with students from local schools Kender Primary, Dulwich Hamlet and St John’s and St Clements.

The Multi-Story Orchestra presents extraordinary performances in unexpected settings. They have worked in partnership with Bold Tendencies since 2011, performing a series of orchestral and chamber concerts across the summer.

Bold Tendencies
is a not-for-profit creative enterprise and arts organisation that has been based in Peckham, South East London, since 2007 and is located on the disused top four floors of the municipal car park. This workshop will take place on the lower covered floors of the site, immediately below the rooftop. On arrival please go to the top floor kiosk where staff will check your ticket and direct you to the workshop.

Access to Bold Tendencies by foot:
The car park is a short walk from Peckham Rye station. Turn left down Rye Lane (towards McDonalds), cross the road at the pedestrian crossing. Santander will then be on your right hand side and you should be facing the Multiplex cinema. Walk towards the cinema and turn right – here on your left you will find the staircase leading up to Bold Tendencies which is manned at all times.

FAQ

  • I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. Alternatively, you can always find your tickets in your Billetto account that you can access in the browsers or the dedicated Billetto app. For more help with this, read here.

  • I wish to cancel my ticket and receive a refund. What should I do?

The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you. To get in touch with the event organiser, simply reply to your order confirmation email or use the "Contact organiser" form on the organiser's profile. For more help with this, read here.

  • I have registered on the waiting list, what happens now?

If more tickets become available you will be notified (by email) amongst others who have joined the list. Purchasing is on a first-come first-serve basis. For more information, read here.

  • Where do I find a link to an online event?

Check your order confirmation page or order confirmation email. Usually, the organiser of the event provides the details in the order confirmation email or they might send you a follow-up email with a link to their online event. You might also want to read the event description on Billetto where an event organiser should describe how to join the event online. For more information on this, read here.

  • What is refund protection and why would I need it?

Refund Protection provides you with the assurance that if unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances interfere with your ability to attend an event you can claim a refund. For more information on this, read here.
