Description
Trans-disciplinary artist and researcher Lo Lo No invites participants to attend The Chimera Function, an experimental performance lecture where they are introduced to the archetype of the Chimera, Chimera theory and Lo Lo’s Chimera methodology within their art practice, as part of their ongoing research practice on gender identity in culture and society.
In this lecture Lo Lo No uses films and text from H. G Wells ‘The island of Dr. Moureau’, Paul. B Preciado’s ‘Can The Monster Speak’ and David Cronenberg’s ‘Crimes of our Future’ accompanied by their own writing to constellate the Chimera Function (archetype, theory, methodology). Through an academic style text and a trans lens, the writing has been processed through Lo Lo’s Chimera methodology deconstruction, intervention and reformation to be transformed into a new abstract text.
The lecture includes film, sound and spoken word in a sensory communication of experimentation and transformation.
