Hampstead Jazz Club is an Official Venue Partner of London Jazz Festival Week November 2019 and is Proud to Present on Thurs 21 November:

The Art Of Song - Jo Harrop

The Art Of Song, is a new show by Jo Harrop, velvet-voiced singer, who’s become a popular artist on the UK scene in recent years.

Rather than celebrate one artist in particular, the repertoire focuses on songwriters from across the genres, in true jazz style, making it a dynamic & interesting journey that twists and turns through musical history.

The show celebrates the art of great songwriting from the genres of jazz, blues, soul & folk, but with swinging, deep and dynamic jazz arrangements, featuring a stellar band of musicians, each with their own individual sound, coming together to take you on a beautiful, exciting musical trip.

Jo interprets songs from the likes of Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Gershwin, Henry Mancini, Michel Legrand, and Jules Styne, as well as those from Tom Waits, Bonnie Raitt, Leonard Cohen Bob Dylan, Randy Newman and Sting, in her own unique way.

She has been described as being a blend of the voluptuous tones of Sarah Vaughan, with the coolness of Anita O’Day & sultry style of Diana Krall.

“A Class Act, with excellent tone and great stage presence”

“A voice like isaly whiskey, rich ruby porter or tannin red wine, deep”

    Line-Up:

    Jo Harrop - Vocals

    Jamie McCredie - Guitar/arranger

    Jihad Darwish - Double bass/arranger

    Sam Watts - Piano
