Description

We've scheduled a second class with talented London-based skate instructor, Skate Tingz aka Amir, who will be helping us fine-tune our technique with pivots, transitions and spins on Friday 16th December from 6:45pm - 9:00pm at Platform Youth Hub (8 mins walk from Finsbury Park Station).

Please arrive on time or early for skate check so that class can start on time.

Meet Amir!

I am Amir but you might know me as SkateTingz! Pivots are very important parts to skating. They work on your body control and balance, they also are very hard to do and open up a large number of moves you can add to your skate arsenal.

This class is for anyone who wants some help on their pivot game and to learn the basics of spinning. My aim is to pass the knowledge I've accumulated from 18 years of skating and make it easily digestible to you and give you some new skills you can walk away with.

Minimum Level

Beginner-intermediates are preferable. Minimum age: 18 years and older.

This class is ideal for beginners with some experience on skates (can turn, stop and roll) to more experienced skaters.

What you need

- Bring your own skates #BYO8s

- Jam plugs OR toe stops (mandatory)

- Toe caps OR Sk8Tape will be provided if needed (no sticky residue - it's just to protect the floor)

- Protective Gear (if needed)

- Good vibes & an open mind 💓

- Read & accept Sk8Hub's Full Policy and Disclaimer

If unsure about any requirements or details, please contact Sk8Hub for guidance.

If you have any medical/health concerns, please contact your GP for guidance before joining.

Organiser

We are a skating community project responding to London's growing need for space to skate. Our main goal is to provide safe, inclusive and fun indoor spaces for skaters of all levels to practise, grow and jam.

Sk8Hub is founded on the ‘Each1Teach1’ principle. The 'love of sharing our growth and supporting each other to become the better version of ourselves' is part of our interpretation of E1T1. It's also about enjoying fun vibes and exploring our creativity on wheels whilst connecting with other free-spirited beings.

What you can expect

  1. A safe, non-judgemental and inclusive community space to grow 🤗
  2. Experienced hosts and marshals to help you out with your technique 🤓
  3. Non-stop groovy music, some from talented skating DJs & some curated for Sk8Hub 🎵
  4. A chance to socialise, meet other skaters and find inspiration 💓
  5. A trained 1st aid and trauma responder at every session 🩺
  6. A JOLLY GOOD TIME! 🎉

#Each1Teach1

FAQ

  • I have not received my Tester ticket via email. What should I do?

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your Tester tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. Alternatively, you can always find your Tester tickets in your Billetto account that you can access in the browsers or the dedicated Billetto app. For more help with this, read here.

  • I wish to cancel my Tester ticket and receive a refund. What should I do?

The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you. • I have registered on the Tester waiting list, what happens now?

If more tickets become available you will be notified (by email) amongst others who have joined the list. Purchasing is on a first-come first-serve basis. For more information, read here.

  • Where do I find a link to an online event?

Check your order confirmation page or order confirmation email. Usually, the organiser of the event provides the details in the order confirmation email or they might send you a follow-up email with a link to their online event. You might also want to read the event description on Billetto where an event organiser should describe how to join the Tester event online. For more information on this, read here.

  • What is refund protection and why would I need it?

Refund Protection provides you with the assurance that if unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances interfere with your ability to attend an event you can claim a refund. For more information on this, read here.
