Tara Minton Quartet
What if the harp were as intrinsic to jazz history as the saxophone? Australian jazz harpist and vocalist Tara Minton explores the last 50 years of American and British jazz, reimagined with the harp front and center. Joined by Phil Merriman on piano, Ed Babar on double bass and Tom Early on drums, this promises to be a brilliant night.
Tara Minton is a jazz harpist and vocalist from Melbourne Australia. She holds a masters of jazz from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and is proudly endorsed by Camac Harpes, France.
Tara and her band have toured all throughout the UK, Europe and beyond, including France, Italy, Ireland , Poland, Lithuania and New York. Tara performed on "Later… with Jools Holland" and at Primavera Festival with Björk as well as the BBC Live Lounge and the One Show with Tom Walker.
She also performed Alice Coltrane’s classic album “Journey in Satchidananda” with the Alina Bzhezhinska Quartet featuring Toni Kofi. Her debut UK album “The Tides of Love” was launched to a sold out show at the Elgar Room, The Royal Albert Hall in 2016. Tara is currently working on new music with her quartet and preparing to tour more extensively in 2020.
