A unique and sensational evening of Big Band entertainment at The Tabernacle Theatre , Notting Hill, London W11.
The Swing Punks big band have been wowing audiences with their new show featuring unique versions of classic punk songs, Musical Director Chris Bemand has been working with band over the last two years to put the set together and, whilst doing it, he has given the classic punk songs of the ‘70’s a completely new lease of life, the new arrangements are jazzy, twisted and fun!
He said: “ I'm genuinely surprised at the fantastic response we've been getting at our shows . People of all ages seem to love the new arrangements, and you don't need to be a jazz or a punk fan to enjoy it... just like good entertainment "
The show includes tracks by: The Sex Pistols, The Stranglers, The Damned, The Ruts, The Ramones, X-Ray Spex, The Buzzcocks, The Lurkers, The Clash and The Undertones.
Swing Punks features a Big Band drawn from some of London’s finest jazz musicians. The band consists of four trombones, four trumpets, five saxophones, drums, bass, guitar, piano and three singers led by trombonist / singer James Lawrence.
The show includes tracks by: The Sex Pistols, The Stranglers, The Damned, The Ruts, The Ramones, The Lurkers, X-Ray Spex, The Buzzcocks, The Clash,The Undertones and more.
The fun starts at 8pm and ends at 10pm .Two sets with a 15 min interval.
