Description

Supporting Seeds is a fun and experiential workshop for all the family where you will learn techniques and discover tools to help manage stress, reconnect with each other and lessen family rivalry. Live's are busy and increasingly stressful for both parents and children and research is now suggesting we are reaching worryingly high levels of mental heath disorders, especially in our youngsters. Our unique and engaging workshop uses creative techniques formulated by a qualified Mindfulness Practitioner, inspired by Jon Kabat-Zin's Mindfulness programmes and ancient practices such as Shrin Yoko, which are adapted for the benefits of modern parents & children. Read below why we are delivering this programme.

We deliver Mindfulness Training to adults, children, groups, schools, employee's and their companies or organisations...and here's why!

The practice of Mindfulness and done regularly through various mediums can and has been recorded to have positive benefits on human health and well-being. The benefits include:

  • Happiness & contentment – overall life wellbeing through general every day happiness and daily acceptance.
  • Long term health benefits of positive emotions – lower cortisol levels and higher oxytocin and endorphins levels. Less fight and flight responses through better self-regulation and ability to reach calm states quicker.
  • A reduction of harmfully recurrent states of anxiety, stress and depression – the mind creates less cortisol in situations that trigger the release of stress hormones which anthropologically are designed to keep us alive in dangerous situations, however these areas are often over-active in our modern environment
  • Improved cognitive functioning – mindfulness improves memory and mental stamina through clearer, more balanced mental health and functions. Like any other muscle, the brain can function clearer and more productively when in good health.
  • Improved immune system – with the lower levels of cortisol our bodies are less inflamed and under less stress which improves circulation and immune system responses.
  • Fulfilling relationships – Improved emotional regulation and empathy which enables the deepening of relationships and social connection.
  • Stress relief – The lower exposure to cortisol reduces stress related disorders that link to hypertension and blood pressure.
  • Pain management – The feeling of pain can be reduced through mindfulness practice by focusing the mind, regulating breathing and endorphin exposure.
  • Addiction and Rehabilitation – Mindfulness can complement other therapeutic treatments, programmes and practitioners when supporting in peoples journeys through addiction.

Mindfulness and Children

The positive benefits for children who practice mindfulness is no different to the effects it has on an adult. With the average age of mental heath disorders getting younger (yes even 7 year olds are now experiencing these) we need to think about equipping our younger generation with life coping skills and methods for handling stress.

Children can learn some amazing life coping skills and strategies from an early age with Mindfulness, which can help:

  • Impulsive behaviours
  • Concentration
  • Ability to handle conflict
  • Growth Mindset
  • Family dysfunctions
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Empathy
  • Understanding emotions & their effects
  • Improve communication
  • Bullying
  • Peer relationships
  • Family relationships
  • Class moral

and all the benefits listed above for adults!
