Join us for a discussion between artist Alice Cazenave, Seetal Solanki, Dr. Simon Park and Melanie King – exploring light sensitive materials in the natural world, techniques for chlorophyll printing and bacteria which responds to light.
Melanie King is an artist working specifically with celestial light. She is the co-director of super/collider and the director of the London Alternative Photography Collective, an organisation which encourages the manipulation of light through the use of analogue photography and printing processes.
Dr Simon F. Park is a senior teaching fellow at the University of Surrey, where he teaches microbiology. Simon is also an artist, and has exhibited his works on bioluminescence at The Wellcome Trust.
Seetal Solanki is a designer and director of Ma_tt_er, an organisation which encourages a deeper exploration of materials, processes, mediums and ideas.
