    Description

The US and UK boast the crown jewels of higher education: Cambridge, Harvard, Oxford, and Yale. The US also harbours short-lived, for-profit institutes that bundle poor training and deep debt. As fees rise in the UK and the future of work looks more uncertain, there is growing concern about the returns students get from some university courses. Does higher education increase or decrease economic inequality? And how can policy help or hinder? Professor Susan Dynarski of the Harvard Graduate School of Education will explore these topics in the Stone Centre’s annual public lecture.
