    Description

If what you want doesn't exist yet: BUILD IT 🌱

Running your own night is the most joyful, artistically useful and sociable thing you can do - whether you're a performer yourself and/or an organiser wanting to bring a lush new event onto the scene. From a chilled, cheap 'n cheerful new material night to a full-scale regular show, with a bit of organisational know-how, vision and promotional flair, you can create and sustain a gig on your own terms. Especially at a time when we need new indie gigs popping up across the UK more than ever!

This workshop will walk you through the creative, organisational and marketing processes of setting up a regular comedy and/or cabaret night. We will cover:

    • Establishing the aims, expectations and ⚡VIBE⚡ of your gig.

    • Working with host venues and other stakeholders.

    • Curating and booking your nights* (*or... afternoons? If you are a LUNATIC. (no of course all gig times are valid.).)

    • Budgeting: overheads, acts fees, creating a realistic and sustainable plan.

    • Branding, promotion and marketing.

    • Community management and long-term growth.

    • Avoiding producer burnout!

This workshop is on Zoom, from 2-4pm (GMT) on 19th June, limited to 12 attendees so that all participants can have full attention and a quality experience. There will be time for questions and discussion at the end, and all workshop materials will be emailed to participants afterwards. If there are specific things you'd be interested in this workshop covering and/or have any accessibility or access concerns, don't hesitate to contact Siân on omnisianbles@gmail.com . Workshops are NOT recorded so everyone can chat without worrying about judgement from Future People.

NO ONE TURNED AWAY FOR LACK OF FUNDS. If you or someone you know would benefit from this event but can't afford to come, contact Siân about limited subsidised spaces. We want to help make your show happen!!
