    Description

This is the page for paying for your Gift of Sight Fair Stall.

The Fair is on Thursday 3rd December, but the deadline for payment is Friday 1st May.

Fair timings on Thurs 3rd Dec:
    General Admission: 11am – 6pm
Followed by ticket-only gala reception 6pm to 8.30pm

Following the success of the 2019 Gift of Sight Fair, we would like to offer you a place at the Gift of Sight Fair for 2020, in aid of St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group.

The St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem opened in 1882.  It provides world-class quality eye care to the people of the Holy Land irrespective of race, creed or ability to pay.  It is currently the main provider of eye care to the people of East Jerusalem, The West Bank and Gaza, where rates of blindness are ten times higher than in more developed countries and where blindness and poverty go hand-in-hand.

Proceeds from this year’s Gift of Sight Fair are being directed to the Mobile Outreach Teams bringing sight-saving treatment to those unable to travel to Jerusalem.  Please help us to continue providing this vital service.

The Guild has run the Gift of Sight Fair, in aid of The St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital, for more than 25 years.    We are very conscious that there are many competing charity fairs each autumn and that we will be working really hard to increase the footfall and to make the event as successful and enjoyable as we can.  We really value the support of our stallholders in publicizing the event amongst customers, family and friends (eg website link for our fair on your website, Facebook likes/ shares/ comments/ tags, inviting people via mailing list and our Facebook event page, tweets, etc). In return, we will mention/tag stallholders who provide us with their Twitter/ Facebook / Instagram account details.

In addition to the stall fee, we also ask all stallholders for a commission payment to the charity of 10% of the gross value of sales at the Fair itself (ie before deduction of the table fee and other expenses) as well as on orders made as a result of introductions made at the Fair.  In accordance with guidance from the Charity Fairs Association, we do allow deduction of VAT before calculating the 10%, if you happen to be VAT registered.

The deadline for payment is 1st May. Should you find that you are unable to attend and need to cancel we will refund all fees before 1st September. Payments not paid by 1st May will result in your stand space being offered to another stallholder. There will be no refund after 1st September 2019 unless a replacement stallholder is found.

Please let us know if you are a wholesaler and sell to other CFA stallholders.  This is important, as we want to limit clashes at the Fair.  If such a clash occurs we would like you to sell your goods at the RRP.

Please note that, although you can park for a short time to unload at the back of the Town Hall, there is no car parking at the Town Hall and you will need to make your own arrangements for parking for the duration of the Fair.  There is a small public cark park in Sydney Street and on-street meter parking in nearby roads for shorter periods.  We suggest that you check out the Parkopedia website for more information.

We regret that the Hall has no lift from the loading bay and everything you bring has to be carried upstairs.  We will, of course, try to provide help with lifting but can’t guarantee that someone will be available to help you when you arrive.   If you are registered disabled please let us know and we will try to arrange special access for you.   There is no loading access though the front door from the King’s Road – I’m afraid you must go around the back.

We are hoping that the 2020 Gift of Sight Fair will be even better than last year’s and look forward to seeing you.

    Yours sincerely

    GIFT OF SIGHT FAIR COMMITTEE
