    Description

The Monument, one of the City's most historic attractions, is to host an exclusive one-off adult storytelling event, Stairwell Stories – Folktales for Fearless Adults, with Nyx Chariot from NTS Live Radio (2014 Best Online Radio Station in the World, International Radio Awards).

The session consists of five stories, all of which encompass magical, contemporary twists on classic fairytales. The evening will unlock guests' imaginations and leave them spellbound with tales inspired by the folklore of the City and the famous Monument itself. In partnership with actress and international professional storyteller, Nell Phoenix, who will tell the stories live through 'silent disco' style headphones beginning at the bottom of The Monument to immerse guests as they climb the 311 spiral staircase to the top of the column where they can take in the beautiful views of the City and the riverbank from one of London's best vantage points. Soundscapes will be incorporated to further animate the stories by radio show Nyx Chariot from the award-winning NTS Radio.

Tickets are £20.00 per person and can be booked here on Billetto. Tea will be provided on arrival.

The Monument, designed by Sir Christopher Wren in 1671-1677 to commemorate the Great Fire of London, is 202ft high and stands 202ft from where the fire started in Pudding Lane. It is the tallest isolated stone column in the world and has been open to visitors for over 300 years. Today it welcomes over 200,000 visitors every year.
