    Description

About Wolves Theatre Company (www.aboutwolvestheatre.com) is holding a workshop for self-identifying women to explore writing and devising material based around the neglected and untold stories of women from history.

Have you always thought Marsha P. Johnson’s role in the Stonewall riots has been drastically overlooked? Or that more people ought to know about the daringly brave work of Noor Inayat Khan? Perhaps you were awestruck when you read about the work of Dorothy Hodgkins, alongside other women who were the first ‘human computers’, and wondered why they never taught you that at school?

Join us for this three hour workshop where About Wolves share some of their techniques for generating material inspired by true events, developing your confidence in giving women from History a voice on stage.

    *************************************************************************************

About Wolves was founded in April 2016 by Ami Sayers, Alex Reynolds and Sadie Clark based on a desire to see more female characters on stage and to tell the stories of women who did not conform to traditional gender roles or expectations, but who achieved or experienced amazing, fascinating things and deserve to have their tales told.

We use new writing and experimental theatre to give a voice to the wild women throughout history and the present whose stories have been silenced. Our debut production ‘Someone Found’, based on the life of Cynthia-Ann Parker, returns to the Pleasance Theatre for a three week run this November.
