Description
Sporting a slam-bang rock ‘n’ roll band and a hard-core honky-tonk wail, she pushes the boundaries of rock, blues and country. A singer-songwriter and a bad-ass harmonica player in the style of Chicago Blues greats Little Walter and James Cotton, Collins has garnered a reputation for her high energy shows, diverse songwriting and unlike most chick-singers, they are not all about love and heartbreak.
Based in Nashville, TN, Stacie is a road warrior having performed countless shows in the USA and Europe over the past few years and has even spawned a Japanese “Stacie Collins” tribute band. In addition to touring, Collins, along with her writing partner, husband, band mate Al Collins (Jason & The Scorchers) have written, recorded and released 4 records on her own label. THE LUCKY SPOT released in 2007, produced by rock legend Dan Baird (The Georgia Satellites / Homemade Sin) quickly became a fan favorite receiving airplay worldwide. Had this record been released twenty or thirty years ago, it would have sounded as natural on ’70s FM radio alongside ZZ Top and The Rolling Stones as it does next to contemporary rockers like the Drive-By Truckers or Blackberry Smoke.
Following the success of THE LUCKY SPOT, Stacie teamed up with German based Blue Rose Records for her third studio record SOMETIMES YA GOTTA (again produced by Baird) in 2010. Loaded with 12 tracks of giddy-up rattle-n-roll, this disk features some of Nashville’s finest musicians including the guitar work of her husbands band mate Warner E. Hodges (Jason & The Scorchers / Homemade Sin). Classic Rock Magazine proclaims that SOMETIMES YA GOTTA is “Guaranteed to get any party started… Imagine a late-night lock-in jam with Aerosmith, The Stones and ZZ Top, fronted by the equivalent of Ronnie Van Zant, or maybe even Shania Twain with balls… It’s sassy, sexy & rocks like a bitch.”
Not one to rest on her laurels, 2013 boasted three more European tours including a coveted spot on the world renowned Sweden Rock Festival and an appearance on the famous Crossroads Festival in Bonn, Germany. In addition, she also tackled the monumental project of producing a live DVD/CD titled SHININ’ LIVE!. Recorded over two nights at Bootleggers Bar in Kendal, England, this is the first live release from this passionate and authentic performer. Packed with over 90 minutes of twang bangin rock’n’roll mixed with behind the scenes footage, it’s easy to see why she has become a fan favorite with this up close and personal experience.
2014 is promising to be another busy year as Stacie and her band The Al-Mighty 3 head back to Europe on THE HARPBREAKER TOUR and plans are in the works for her next studio record. Anything can happen at a Stacie Collins show and that’s why the fans keep coming back. A word of warning, if you are going to see her perform; It is not uncommon to find her dancing on your table or the bar, blowin’ harp and stomping her spiked heels. So, if you don’t see her on stage, you had better hold onto your beer!
