Description
At the end of the First World War a plaque was commissioned for All Saints Church Plumstead to commemorate all the war dead of the parish. It lists all the names. When that church was bombed in 1944 the plaque was put into storage. It has recently been re-discovered but needs to be professionally restored before it can once again be publicly displayed, this time in the replacement church building. http://www.allsaintsshootershill.org/
The Greenwich Concert Band have generously agreed to support our fund-raising by playing a concert for us. The Greenwich Concert Band is one of the most accomplished and versatile concert bands in London and the South East. It plays a wide variety of music from show tunes to the classics. You can find more information about the band on its website. http://www.greenwichconcertband.co.uk/
Families and children are welcome to this concert. Children are free and we will have quiet activities available to occupy them if they become distracted.
The list of names on the plaque are on this page from the dedication service. If anyone recognises any family names we'd be delighted to be put in contact.
