It is with great pleasure that The Hampstead Jazz Club is able to bring you the gargantuan musician that is Ronald “Boo” Hinkson (OBE), from St Lucia for a very special one night only performance in London.

Ronald "Boo" Hinkson's talent transcends cultures and sounds, bringing a fresh and innovative blend of jazz and Caribbean music. A gifted composer, producer, and heralded guitarist, Boo's unique approach and versatility enable him to deliver a distinctive signature sound.

With a performance track record that includes international stages from the Caribbean, to the U.S. and Europe, Boo has shared the stage with scores of musical greats including Al Jarreau, India Arie, Earl Klugh, George Benson and Grover Washington. He was recently featured at a state function for former President Bill Clinton. His music has been showcased on the day-time television show "One Life to Live". BBC, BET Jazz, and Bravo TV have also aired his live performances.

Stanley Jordan describes Boo "as a genuinely gifted and accomplished musician". George Benson praises his technical prowess and improvisation. Ronnie Laws has described his playing as "extremely soulful and intense".

Frequently compared to Kenny Burrel for not only his natural touch on the guitar but also his polished image, Boo plays the guitar with fire, soul, and astuteness. "Beyond" and "Shades" are sure to be a collector's items for any real Jazz enthusiast. 

Boo has won scores of awards both locally and abroad, among them the Saint Lucia Medal of Merit (SLMM), the Saint Lucia Piton Medal (SLPM) and recently, Order of the British Empire (OBE).  He has written top ten songs for various reggae artists, calypsonians and rhythm and blues performers locally, regionally and on the international scene.

Acclaimed master of guitar Ciyo Brown is one of HJC's most popular and frequent Artists and part of what is now a HJC family of talented resident musicians.  Since HJC opened in Nov 2017, Ciyo has presented some of the industry's most reputable and talented musicians and singers, always delivering a consistent line-up of some of the most celebrated musicians on the live music circuit.

Ciyo's illustrious musical career celebrates pioneered fusions of jazz and reggae with a successful release of six albums under his own name. The sixth album “Put a little jazz in their lives” expertly unites the beautiful complexity of jazz with the subtle rhythmic undertones of reggae.

Please note, The Club is not licensed to allow access to Children under the age of 16 after 9pm, so for evening performances, please do not book tickets for children under the age of 16. Children aged 16 and above are welcome at any time. No dogs allowed in the Jazz Club.

Seats are not numbered and you will be seated at available tables. Please note tables seat 4 people, so for bookings of less than 4 people, you will be seated and share a table for 4.
