Description

Join us on December 8th and 9th 2017 when students of Larbert High will perform a piece of outdoor promenade theatre, celebrating the unique local heritage. Through drama, music and a stunning light show, students will re-enact key aspects of Carron Company’s history and legacy within the stunning setting of the Carron Dams.

Our pupils have researched, designed and created this whole event from script to performance. They have designed and made historically accurate props and costume and composed music which will help to set the mood and atmosphere of this unique outdoor performance, turning the Carron Dams into an ‘Enchanted Forest’.

Through the project we hope to highlight the significance of the Carron Company and Dams, encourage the local community to visit and appreciate the area, as well as building links with pupils in our cluster primaries who will later be involved in the project following this initial event. The legacy of this event will be that we will be able to provide, to interested parties, guided tours of the area through historical re-enactment for years to come with each new year group of pupils taking on the roles.

Please arrive 15 minutes before show time.

This is an outdoor promenade theatre performance. Please be prepared to walk around the performance site.

Suitable footwear and outdoor clothing is recommended. You may wish to bring a small torch or mobile phone with torch light. We would encourage you to bring an umbrella/waterproof clothing in the event of wet weather.
