As part of the Waltham forest black history and diversity drive, A.Xodus in partnership with NightSpot Cinema and Waltham forest council brings you “something for the people” an event that brings all members of the community together to celebrate the positivity of the history and legacy that has helped to create a culturally diverse uk.

This event will be hosted by artist Ka BoukieNightspot cinema will be screening the uk cult classic: babylon. We also will have a special surprise guest from the movie on the night.The event Collaborators, Facilitators and performers:

A.Xodus is a culturally inclusive creative collective that upholds and celebrates pan-African culture, through events, film, music, and education regardless of socio-economic backgrounds, ethnicity or neuro-diverse challenges.

Nightspot Cinema :
This independent cinema not only acts as a place to view films, Nightspot cinema also acts as a cultural hub film school, delivering high quality cinematic education to underrepresented members of the community, offering workshops to the local community regardless of their ethnicity or socio-economic background, any disabilities or neurodivergent challenges.Nightspot cinema will be screening the uk cult classic: babylon.

Babylon is a 1980 British drama film directed by Franco Rosso.Written by Franco Rosso and Martin Stellman (Quadrophenia), and shot by two-time Academy Award winner Chris Menges (The Killing Fields), Babylon is an incendiary portrait of racial tension and police brutality set in Brixton, London.
The film, anchored by Dennis Bovell’s propulsive score, is partly based on Bovell’s false imprisonment for running a Jamaican sound system, Sufferer’s Hi Fi, in the mid-70s.
Bantaba Mandinka Drumming academy:
Centre of African Excellence for Mandinka Sound Healing, African Drumming academy which was Birthed at The V1llage, Alcham Village, to Honor the elders and ancestors.
Wood St. C.O.G.I.C. choir :
Wood St Tabernacle where lives are changed and destinies are created. It is our desire to see lives transformed in corporate worship unto God.
Junkanoo performance:
Traditionally Jamaican inspired slavery freedom celebration of junkanoo which is a celebration rooted in West African heritage. The Junkanoo mas which is Ran by GB Carnival's Frankly sweeny, and Musically directed by Local artist Ka Boukie has performed at up and coming and iconic festivals and carnivals such as notting hill carnival, Margate Carnival, Ramsgate leyton mas as more..
celebration rooted in West African heritage, As well as drum circle performance rooted in caribbean and african heritage.
The A.Xodus black History celebration will also host spoken word performances, Music/Percussion workshops, Creative making workshops. performances from the people from the local and wider community, and gospel music performance from C.O.G.I.C church, woods st.
This event will close with DJ performances from members of the local community as well other popular djs from the London pan african DJ scene.
This event is for encouraging community spirit as well as dispeeling racisming and ignorance, to celebrate pan-African and black culture for all members of the community regardless of your ethnic background or socio-economic background.

I have not received my Something for the people ticket via email. What should I do?
The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your Something for the people tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. Alternatively, you can always find your Something for the people tickets in your Billetto account that you can access in the browsers or the dedicated Billetto app. For more help with this, read here.

I wish to cancel my Something for the people ticket and receive a refund. What should I do?
The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you.
