Description
"I am not sick - I am well; I just need help and advice."
At the age of 58, Wendy Mitchell was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and confronted with the most profound questions about life and identity. Determined to raise awareness and break down some of the misinformation, misunderstandings and stigma about what it means to be a person living with dementia, Wendy embarked on writing her memoir, 'Somebody I used to know.'
Wendy's book, co-written with Anna Wharton a Tunbridge Wells based author and journalist, reached No 5 in the Sunday Times Bestseller list and consequently received much publicity, not least being serialised on Radio 4's ''Book of the Week,' back in February.
We are delighted, therefore, to host an evening at Rose Hill School Theatre on October 16 2018, in which Anna will be in conversation with Wendy about her diagnosis and living with dementia. Afterwards, we will open up the discussion by taking questions from the floor.
The theatre has disabled access and there is ample free parking on site. For any further information please contact the Women's Equality Party: Tunbridge Wells at tunbridgewells@womensequality.org.uk or you can find us on Twitter: @WEPTWells or Facebook: Facebook.com/WEPTwells/ or Instagram: WEPTWells.
