    SNUG CLUB [Queer Film Club] Presents Transmissions: an evening of sharing, conversation and inspiration with local filmmakers to spark new work and experimentation in all genres related to film.
     

    Hosted by An(dre)a Spisto:An(dre)a Spisto Luces is a Venezuelan/Curacaoean Neuroqueer clown, performance artist and filmmaker. An(dre)a combines performance art, physical theatre and live art. An(dre)a also worked as an assistant producer for BBC Three and The Connected Set. In 2020 after their sell out live theatre show ‘Butch Princesa’ was postponed due to the pandemic. Andrea was commissioned by CASA Festival to create their first short film ‘ISLA’. They are currently developing projects combining live performance, film and technology and will use this research to develop genre-smashing work. 

     Guests:

     Tolu Oshodi:Tolu is a Nigerian-British visual artist and performer whose practice combines movement, photography & film. Theoretical interests behind her movement practice are based in the exploration and liberation of Black sexual politics. She is particularly driven to create emotive work that is rooted in our shared human experience, exploring notions of self, relationships and community.
     

     Liz Collier:Liz Collier is an award-winning documentary producer. She’s worked on an eclectic mix of projects from observational documentary series including  C4’s 24 Hours in A&E and 24 Hours in Police Custody to cinema drama docs and short films. She is interested in documentaries that focus on ordinary people in extraordinary situations and access-based documentaries that take you behind closed doors into worlds outside our everyday experiences. Liz is also one of the founders of Fringe! Queer Film & Arts Festival in London.

     Rubina Pabani:Rubina Pabani is a video producer and podcaster and is on parental leave from her role as the Head of Short Form at ITN Productions, makers of Channel 4 News and the Oscar nominated For Sama.
    Her role includes pitching to broadcasters and platforms and making short form videos and podcasts.

    She has made a range of video content for BBC Three, Channel 4 and Snapchat and is co-host of the podcast Brown Girls Do It Too on BBC Sounds.
    She was selected to be part of the Edinburgh Television Festival’s Ones To Watch scheme in 2019 and her work has won a Mind Media Award and a Broadcast Digital Award.
