SLAM will be heading to Greenwich this month to explore both the Greenwich Town and Greenwich Peninsula.
Starting at Greenwich Peninsula we will be visiting NOW Gallery. In collaboration with Greenwich Peninsula, the London Design Festival has commissioned 'A bullet from a shooting star', a Festival Landmark Project and outdoor installation at Greenwich Peninsula by sculptor Alex Chinneck, taking the unconventional form of a upside down electricity pylon.
After an exclusive introduction by the artist to this latest piece, and a look at both the sculpture and exhibitions, we will make our way by Thames Clipper boat to Greenwich Town.
Ben Oakley Gallery is known for theatrical exhibitions, in which the whole gallery is transformed into something reminiscent of a stage set or performance space. We will be popping in to explore the artworks in this unique gallery space.
The Stephen Lawrence Gallery, having recently moved locations, is now housed in the University of Greenwich Stockwell Steet Building. Allowing special access to our tour, the Stephen Lawrence Gallery will be showcasing some exciting new soundscapes.
These are just some of the stops on the tour, we will be confirming further gallery visits and there are also public artworks that we will be exploring on route.
