Description
Join architect Nuno Pais and illustrator Lis Watkins to walk from Farringdon Station to the Barbican Centre, sketching a variety of streetscapes and buildings along the way.
For 2 hours you'll be immersed in the most architecturally rich part of London and will focus on capturing the vibe of the area and details of the buildings guided by the drawing tips of Lis and Nuno.
We'll stop at 4 locations and there will be 4 challenges to help you get started.
1. We will start off at Farringdon Station, and draw the atmospheric Cowcross Street.
2. We will head to the Art Deco block “Florin Court” in Charterhouse Square famous for being Hercule Poirot's residence.
3. From here we'll head to Cloth Fair, a medieval hidden street home of the spectacular St Bartholomew's church and the oldest residential buildings in the city.
4. We'll continue to the Modernist Barbican Estate where we'll spend some time drawing a complete scene of buildings, nature, people and activities.
At the end of the session there'll be time for Q&As and to socialise around the Barbican Lakeside Terrace.
Please bring your art kit and a stool, if you have one, as seating options can be limited.
8 places left. £24 per person
We are very much looking forward to drawing with you!
