In addition to well-known western classical pieces for piano, Siqian will perform Jasmine Flower Fantasia, based on the most well-known Chinese folk tune, "Jasmine Flower" by famous Chinese composer, Wanghua Chu. This piece retains the simplicity and beauty of the original pentatonic tune but was also written with full imagination of sound, in a Chinese romantic way.
Featured as a Rising Star in BBC Music Magazine and winner of multiple awards, Chinese pianist Siqian Li brings depth, dynamism and a shining pianism to her musical explorations. Commended for her ‘virtuosity and talent’ (Annecy Classic Festival), her ‘huge emotional range and effortless pianistic control’ (Paul Lewis), and her ‘graceful and touching’ approach (Emanuel Ax), Siqian has appeared in concerts and recitals around the world.
