Description
Taking time out from their one-stop world tour to Putney, we’re thrilled to announce that The Ruggs have generously agreed to bring their special brand of classic-mashing to Bush Hall, the iconic Shepherds Bush venue that has hosted lesser known artists such as Adele, The Killers and REM. This celebrity-empty evening will be studded with tracks from the never-recorded Greatest Copies album and is an unmissable event for anyone with nothing else to do on a Thursday, a good sense of humour and mid-life crisis dance moves.
But hey, it’s not just for fun (enormous though it will be).
It’s for a great cause.
The Ruggs will be 'Singing for Syrians' in aid of The Hands Up Foundation, a registered UK charity, set up by George Butler and three friends in 2014. The aim is to help those Syrians, many of whom are innocent children, who have been injured and displaced by the conflict.
All the money we raise at our Bush Hall gig will be channelled directly to where it is needed most - to a clinic fitting prosthetic limbs and also to pay the salaries of Syrian doctors.
Our gig will be one of hundreds supporting 'Singing for Syrians’ both large and small across the nation.
Author and TV journalist, Rob Penn, will talk about his personal experience of Aleppo. We will also hold an auction for prosthetic limbs where you can really make a difference to someone's life.
Jamie Sherriff, founder of Bittenclub at Flat Iron Square will be cooking up a storm on the night so you won't go hungry. A delicious Vietnamese-inspired Duck or Tofu Baguette (or gluten-free option) is included in your ticket.
You can also support the charity by purchasing a T-Shirt especially designed for this event by Rohan and Katherine's artist niece Molly. You'll get a chance to pre-order your size and style when you buy your tickets. Collect on the night.
So please do dig deep and let's make this a fantastic night.
Thank you! xxx
P.S. We're really hoping you can make it but if for some reason you can't and you would like to make a donation to the charity please donate here.
Doors (and bar!) opens at 7:30pm.
T-shirts available to pre-order when you buy your ticket.
