HJC debut of lauded & highly versatile vocalist Geraldine Reid accompanied by none other than our very own maestro of guitar and MD Ciyo Brown, in what will be an unforgettable night of songs from ‘The Queen of Soul’ the late and great Aretha Franklin.
Geraldine Reid
Seasoned vocalist Geraldine heralds an arsenal of industry experience with her diverse musical repertoire spanning the genres between R&B, Soul, Contemporary Pop, Reggae, Soca & Calypso has worked alongside a who’s who of notable Artists over the years both in the UK and Internationally, Boney M, Paul Weller, Carroll Thompson, John McLean, Tyrone Taylor, Kofi to name but a few.
Reid’s professionalism and pure talent has been the artist’s choice as the collaborative voice for their studio projects. Geraldine boasts a plethora of noteworthy album recordings for acclaimed artists over the years, some of which include: singing lead vocal for the track 'Suspicious' by the Phoenix Band, background recordings on the album ‘Night Calls’ by Joe Cocker, background vocals recorded with various artists on the Ariwa record label aka Mad Professor, Black Steel, Johnny Orlando, Norma White, Ciyo Brown and Carl McIntosh.
Currently performing as the backing vocalist with Carl McIntosh and the Loose Ends Experience since November 2015, Geraldine continues to play to live audiences at UK festivals, Arenas, and at major European night spots.
This versatile performer comfortably undertakes a wide genre of musical styles including Calypso/Soca and also features as part of a female vocal group ‘The Divettes’ who have also recorded the track 'Soul Fire' written by the talented and former British Calypso Monarch holder of 2010 & 2011 Alexander D'Great, recorded and produced by Martin York and Alexander D.

Acclaimed master of guitar Ciyo Brown is one of HJC's most popular and frequent Artists and part of what is now a HJC family of talented resident musicians. Since HJC opened in Nov 2017, Ciyo has presented some of the industry's most reputable and talented musicians and singers, always delivering a consistent line-up of some of the most celebrated musicians on the live music circuit.
Ciyo's illustrious musical career celebrates pioneered fusions of jazz and reggae with a successful release of six albums under his own name. The sixth album “Put a little jazz in their lives” expertly unites the beautiful complexity of jazz with the subtle rhythmic undertones of reggae.
Ciyo has worked with an astonishing range of international artists including Suggs, Paul Weller, Annie Lennox, Ronnie Laws, Billie Paul, YolanDa Brown, Jazz Warriors, Sugar Minott, Dennis Bovell, Pee Wee Ellis, Sly and Robbie, Steel Pulse, Aswad, Carroll Thompson and Carleen Anderson.

Please note, The Club is not licensed to allow access to Children under the age of 16 after 9pm, so for evening performances, please do not book tickets for children under the age of 16. Children aged 16 and above are welcome at any time. No dogs allowed in the Jazz Club.

I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?
The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services.
