Description

Join Karen Blake from Silver Clay Workshop and learn how to design and create your own real silver jewellery.

This workshop is ideal for beginners who are interested in learning the basics of making real silver jewellery with this amazing new creative clay.

The class will cover how to plan, create, fire and finish simple jewellery designs in real silver.

You will make two or three items such as a pair of earrings and a pendant or charms for a bracelet and a necklace. Everything will be ready to wear by the end of the day and you’ll feel confident to continue working with silver clay to create your own designs at home.

We’ll cover all the key techniques of planning, rolling, shaping, design and decoration as well as polishing and making up your finished pieces. We’ll also look at how easy it is to fire the clay at home – you don’t need a kiln! You will be guided through every stage, step by step throughout the day with lots of demos and super tips for silver success!

It will be a fun day with plenty of time to experiment and get creative with silver clay.

By the end of the workshop, you will have learnt:

1. How silver clay is made and where it comes from

2. The importance of planning your design

3. How to create simple designs using everyday items and easy tools

4. How to fire the clay at home. It takes just a few minutes and you don’t need a kiln.

5. Polishing and finishing your designs to a professional standard

6. The next steps to continue your silver clay adventure….!

A small range of books, tools, chains and jewellery fittings will be available to buy. Prices approx. £2.50 - £15.00. for your own future use but all other materials will be provided. You will get to go home with two or three finished pieces that will be ready to wear by the end of the day.
