    Description

Sentebale are delighted to announce the return of our Christmas Carol Concert on Monday 10th December at Holy Trinity, Sloane Square.

Doors will open at 18.30 | Concert begins at 19.00

Join us for an evening of festive fun to celebrate and raise awareness of Sentebale’s work with children affected by HIV in southern Africa. This year's Christmas Carol Concert will support our life-changing programmes addressing the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people affected by HIV in Lesotho, Botswana and Malawi. Fundraising initiatives like the Carol Concert enable Sentebale to continue the delivery of this vital work, and give even more children affected by HIV the bright future they deserve.

The programme will include an array of ever popular Christmas carols, featuring solo performances by Soprano Laura Wright and seasonal readings by Sentebale Ambassador and star of BBC Call the Midwife, Laura Main, alongside her co-star and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald actress Victoria Yeates. All guests are invited to join Sentebale for a mince pie and winter warmer following the service.

The Sentebale 2018 Carol Concert is generously supported by The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Princess & Ko Luxury London Florist.

    More about Sentebale

Sentebale was founded in 2006 by The Duke of Sussex and Prince Seeiso with a vision to work in partnership to positively transform the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children.

In a little over a decade, Sentebale have turned this vision into reality, establishing a psychosocial support network to reach thousands of children and young people affected by HIV in Lesotho, Malawi and Botswana.

The charity’s flagship programme of monthly clubs and weeklong camps help children accept their HIV status amongst peers in a safe environment, addressing their mental health and wellbeing, improving their adherence to medication and allowing them to lead healthy, happy lives.

In 2016, Sentebale expanded the clubs and camps programme to Botswana, which has the world’s third highest prevalence rate of HIV, and in October 2018, the charity held its first club in Mulanje District, Malawi in partnership with Global AIDS Interfaith Alliance (GAIA) to support adolescent girls and young women affected by HIV.

Globally, 1,700 new HIV infections occur every day among young people and stigma remains a major factor preventing youth accessing lifesaving health services. Despite advancements in treatment and care, young people are lagging behind on multiple fronts — knowledge of HIV, HIV testing, treatment and prevention. It is in this context that Sentebale has developed a youth centred approach to impact the lives of children and young people across southern Africa.
