Description
With more than one in ten residents in Walthamstow now self employed, the changing world of work and both its risks and rewards are a high priority for me for ensuring the future prosperity of our area. Whether those who work online or offline, who are consultants or contractors, are in old or new industries, this trend is also creating challenges for walthamstow only collective action can address.
That's why Stella Creasy has been working with a range of organisations to develop new ways of supporting our local economy including a Union for self-employed residents - on Tuesday 30th May she will be holding a meeting for local business owners and self employed people to find out about this exciting project. If Stella is re-elected as Walthamstow's Labour and Cooperative MP, setting up this ventur is a priority for her to support our local economy. Joining this meeting to discuss whether such a scheme could work in Walthamstow will be representatives of IndyCube, a cooperative who are launching a union for self employed residents in Wales and Community Union who are supporting this pilot.
This meeting is open to any self employed person who lives in Walthamstow and will be from 7-8.30pm and is free to attend. If you would like to join us please use this form to sign up to help with the logistics of this event.
This event is promoted by Dan Neidle, on behalf of Stella Creasy, both at 23 Orford Road E17 9NL.
