Secret personalities of fonts
The voice of a brand is its most important asset—discover why in this fun and highly interactive session
This is an introduction to typography (and why it matters) with “aha” moments. It’s ideal for anybody who works in the communications industries, not just designers. Learn about the psychology of typography to font personalities and what they communicate subliminally—you'll never think about fonts in the same way again.
“Such a fun, interesting and inspiring workshop with clear and empowering takeaways. It reinforced the importance of coherent presentation of our brand for colleagues from all parts of our company, in all types of roles.” Nicky Borowiec, Springer Nature
Join author Sarah Hyndman for an interactive event packed with games & demonstrations for you to take part in. You’ll discover how to profile the personalities of different typefaces in this fun and educational session. You’ll learn an easy formula for font combining, explore how a typeface can create (or loose) the trust of the reader and find out what your choice of personality reveals about your personality.
This session is based on the extensive research Sarah has done into typefaces and their associated personality types and numerous live events.
CAMERA ON! You're encouraged to have your camera on because this is a live and interactive Zoom session with fun activities and a dash of theatre. My sessions are created to feel like we're all in the same room together*.

Hello, I'm Sarah the host for this session. I'm the author of a number of books including 'Why Fonts Matter' and 'How to Draw Type and Influence People'. I'm a TEDx speaker, a regular guest on BBC Radio 4 and I sometimes appear on TV on shows like Channel 4's Sunday Brunch.
I make typography exciting for everybody, not just experts. Have you
ever wondered whether you judge a shop or pub by its sign? Or why you
judge a bottle by its label? Over the last seven years, I've welcomed
thousands of people to my events and workshops. Now I'm excited that I
can bring these experiences directly to you wherever you are in the
world.
Recent Zoom guests have said “The event is genius”, “you are such an amazing storyteller!” and “That was fun. Whoever woulda’ thought that I could be eating granola in Portland Oregon while visiting London?”
