Description

With a glimpse of sunshine and lighter evenings on the horizon, Londoners finally have something to smile about. A selection of the capital’s favourite lifestyle hotspots will be transformed into a series of technicolour destinations, as Colour my Summer takes over Nova and Cardinal Place in Victoria, and One New Change and New Street Square in the City.

The summer-long takeover – which launches on Thursday 20 June and will run until Thursday 22 August – is inspired by the vibrancy of the capital. Each destination will pay homage to the bold creativity that London has to offer – and encourage us all to chase the rainbow.

Think pink at Nova, SW1

In a makeover that Legally Blonde’s Elle Woods would be proud of, Nova – the ever-popular food and entertainment destination in Victoria – will be pretty in pink. Complete with a sensational and highly Instagrammable floral wall to ensure we all channel our inner influencer this summer.

And, with fortnightly live music thanks to Nova Summer Sounds – with an extra-special edition to celebrate the launch of Colour my Summer on Thursday 20 June – drinkers and diners alike can dust off their dancing shoes and boogie until the sun goes down. For more details on the fortnightly line-ups visit https://createvictoria.com/novasummersounds.

It takes two to mango at Cardinal Place, Victoria

We’re bringing you sunshine with a tropical, mango-inspired makeover at Cardinal Place. The much-loved roof garden will be enveloped in a bright canary canopy, providing the perfect spot to relax and unwind.

Blending the old with the new, the roof garden’s ever-popular Wimbledon screenings will have a glorious yellow makeover this year, whilst tonic brand Franklin & Sons will partner with Portobello Road Gin to launch Victoria’s all-new roof garden bar experience. Catch all the action from Centre Court seven days a week, from Monday 1 July until Sunday 14 July.

But that’s not all. Londoners can meet and greet on our all-new mango seat: a tutti-frutti-inspired Instagram hotspot to take you to the top of your friends’ feeds.

Meanwhile, to celebrate the official arrival of summer in Victoria, on Thursday 20 June an all-new installation, Lick Me, I’m Delicious, will be serving up sweetshop favourites and candyfloss to keep Londoners sweet.

Green with envy at One New Change

The heart of the City will be receiving an Emerald City-inspired makeover thanks to Colour my Summer, with the rooftop at One New Change transformed into a gorgeous green escape.

What’s more, a specially designed butterfly installation will provide the perfect place to capture your favourite city selfie shots. Set against the backdrop of St Paul’s Cathedral, its illuminated wings (at almost 3.5 metres wide) will be sure to light up the London skyline. After all, if you didn’t ‘Gram it, did it happen?!

Nearby, grass-inspired seating will offer the perfect place for capturing those more candid camera moments. The perfect spot to catch the action from this year’s Wimbledon tournament, we’ll be serving up rooftop tipples as the ever-popular screens make their return to the City.

Don’t be blue at New Street Square

We’ll be bringing a sense of calm and tranquillity to New Street Square, transforming the piazza into a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the City. Londoners will be able to relax and unwind on a series of deck chairs dotted throughout the space, surrounded by blue-hued trees to echo the serenity of water.

Back by popular demand, Londoners will also be able to chill out and catch this year’s Wimbledon tournament with screenings during their lunchbreaks, or catch an afternoon snooze before heading back to the office.

So, what are you waiting for? Forget the grey, because Colour my Summer is on its way – and promises to offer your choice of ultimate hangouts for summer in the capital.
