This 4 hour course is aimed at ensuring you develop the skills and knowledge to cope and deal effectively and swiftly with any concerns over individual children. This course is run through our training providers and is valid for 3 years. A certificate of attendance is awarded upon completion.
By the end of this training you will be able to:-
- Understanding your duties and responsibilities in relationship to safeguarding - Legislation, policies and procedures - Understanding what is child abuse, the signs and what are accidental and non- accidental injuries - Identify forms of abuse, the signs and symptoms of abuse - Deal with allegations of abuse and disclosures - List the do not's when it comes to dealing with children and young persons - Understanding and consider safe practice approaches - Understanding the dangers inherent to carrying out person searches - Understand relevant legislation - Identify different types of abuse - Consider some of the causes of abuse - Increase issues of confidentiality and disclosure - Identify some of the indicators of abuse
