    Description

    Please join this exclusive breakfast with the distinguished contributors to discuss the prospects of the post-sanctions Iran Oil&Gas sector.

    The discussion will offer a unique insight on the country’s key opportunities and associated challenges. While the process of lifting a decade-long UN sanctions on Iran won’t be a quick task, Iran will be stepping on the road of re-joining the global markets, gaining access to previously tied-up funds and opening its multiple lucrative investment opportunities to foreign investment.

    The event will be chaired by Jonathan Blanchard-Smith and confirmed speakers include:

    • Dan Newcombe, Litigation lawyer at Shearman & Sterling; He specializes in complex investigations and disputes. Approved by the United Nations as an expert on ethics and compliance, he has served as a Department of Justice and SEC sanctioned compliance monitor.
    • Nick Butler, Visiting Professor and Chair of the Kings Policy Institute at Kings College London. He spent 29 years with BP, including five years as Group Vice President for Policy and Strategy Development at BP from 2002 to 2006. He has also served as Senior Policy Adviser at No 10, Chairman of the Centre for European Reform and Treasurer of the Fabian Society;
    • Jonathan Holyoak, Head of the International Energy Unit, Foreign and Commonwealth Office
    • Yves Merer, Former Chairman of Shell Companies in Iran and more recently a Director and Founder of Simorgh Energy, a company focusing on Iranian E&P opportunities
    • Professor Paul Stevens, Distinguished Fellow of the Royal Institute of International Affairs Chatham House;
    • Cyrus Molavi, Director of Comet Enterprises Ltd, a consultancy focusing on Iran;
    • Mahdi Kazemzadeh, the founder and managing director of Afraz Advisers, an Iran-focused advisory firm providing technical and commercial insights for large oil companies, corporates and investors looking at the Iranian market.
