Richie Campbell is currently one of the most promising acts in the European Reggae scene, having already worked with several of the greatest names in Reggae, such as Kymani Marley or Gentleman, and toured Europe with Anthony B.
A bright rising star in the Portuguese music scene since 2010, with his 2013 release of his first full length album, entitled "Focused", Richie burst into the European scene with the hit single "That's How We Roll", a video that already has more than 3 million views and was elected "Song Of The Year 2012" in Portugal. The album also features collaborations with Ikaya, Turbulence, Anthony B, as well as contributions from producers like Don Corleone, Big Finga, and Specialist. Upon its release in Portugal the album immediately climbed the charts, reaching nº1 on iTunes and on the national charts while also being distinguished by ReggaeVille.com, the leading Reggae website in Europe, as the 6th best Reggae album of the year.
But the great part of the success of his work is deeply rooted in his fabulous live performances. The sheer power of his charismatic onstage presence, his ability to capture everyone's attention with high paced lyrics as well as smooth, soulful tones, he has proven time and again to be able to win over any crowd. Backed up by the seasoned 911 Band, Richie Campbell has thrilled audiences in sold out venues. In 2013 alone, his "Focused" Tour has sold out countless arenas and took him to most of Portugal's top Festivals and some of the most important Reggae festivals across Europe.
With the critically acclaimed success of his breakout album, Richie has also graced stages in Spain (most recently Nowa Reggae Festival), Germany (Ruhr Summer Reggae, Summerjam), Sweden (Furuvick Reggae Festival), Jamaica (Digicel Bob Marley Concert) Belgium (Antitapas) and even Barbados, where he performed at Henessy Artistry last December!
2015 marks the release of a new album and the beginning of a new chapter. New single 'Best Friend' is out now, and you can catch Richie on tour in July, including an exclusive London show at The Garage on Wednesday 29th July.
