Retribution Alive's Maryland MetalFest returns for a second edition, with GODTHRYMM (feat. ex-members of MY DYING BRIDE, ANATHEMA, VALLENFYRE), SALEM UK, TAILGUNNER, FAMYNE, DETHONATOR, GODLESS SUNS, NOMADIC REIGN and ATRAVION!

SALEM UK
Salem UK (formally known as Salem) has been gigging and recording since 1979 (with a slight pause in between 1983 and 2009!). With founder member and bassist Adrian Jenkinson still on the rosta, along with lead vocalist Simon Saxby, who joined in 1980, Salem UK is a genuine NWOBHM band. Ace axeman Francis Gill and fellow NWOBHM drummer Dave Megginson complete the lineup.

GODTHRYMM
GODTHRYMM was formed in 2017 by vocalist/guitarist Hamish Glencross (ex-My Dying Bride/Vallenfyre/Solstice) and sees the respected UK metal luminary return to his doom metal roots, creating the music he was known to help forge with Solstice (on the legendary “New Dark Age” album) and especially with the heralded My Dying Bride from the 2000 – 2014 time period. Further adding to the GODTHRYMM pedigree of doom, joining Glencross is ex-My Dying Bride/Anathema drummer Shaun Taylor-Steels who, after some slight lineup refining (following the band’s “A Grand Reclamation”debut EP), became the core of GODTHRYMM with Glencross as the two would end up recording the colossal GODTHRYMM debut album “Reflections” (the duo would add bassist Bob Crolla following the recording of “Reflections”) Now augmented by the keyboard and vocal talents of Catherine Glencross, and live guitarist Al Kotwal, the band have completed work on their new album “Distortions” due for release late summer 2023 on Profound Lore Records; the sound now expanded into an epic expanse of melodic and mournful doom metal.

Coming from nowhere to take the underground by storm in 2022, TAILGUNNER are the fastest rising Metal band on the scene. With their debut album released this July, the band are scheduled to play Keep It True Rising & headline this years Wildfire Festival, as well as other dates through out the UK & Europe.
