Brian worked in the Far East for many years and was an active member of the Royal Asiatic Society. It was at the request of the RAS that he, with the help of his wife Claudine, began a period of in-depth research into what was then, and to a large extent still is, a relatively unknown story. Brian’s findings were published in the Journal of the Hong Kong branch of the RAS and have been an important resource for subsequent researchers.
