Workers at Picturehouse cinemas have been fighting for over 16 months for a London Living Wage, fair pay differentials for other pay grades, sick pay, maternity/paternity leave, and recognition of their union BECTU. Picturehouse is owned by Cineworld Cinemas, which made £93 million in profit in 2016; they can afford to give their workers proper pay and rights. Instead of giving PIcturehouse workers what they deserve, the company has resorted to union-busting and victimization of activists, including sacking trade union reps last June.
We need to fundraise for their strike fund so they can keep taking industrial action and put even more pressure on their unfair employers.
