Pita Party Bonanza

Throughout January, we'e beating back the post-festive blues with a guest chef collaboration series in celebration of the humble but mighty pita welcoming four of London’s hottest chefs to their Exmouth Market kitchen to create a pita that will run as a special on the Shawarma Bar menu for a week. The line-up sees Dan Doherty of Duck & Waffle, Tom Browne of Decatur, Miles Kirby of Caravan and Sam Clark of Moro let their Middle Eastern creative juices run wild with each chef putting their stamp on the classic pita.

The collaboration will culminate in the grand-finale on February 5th, the one-off Pita Party, when Josh and all four chefs will come together to showcase their dish. Guests will receive a half pint of our own brew upon entry, a mini pita from all four guest chefs as well as one from Shawarma Bar’s very own Josh Katz. No Pita Party would be complete without music so guests can expect tunes to be pumping from the Shawarma Bar sound system

Dan Doherty (Duck & Waffle)

Crispy duck shawarma, duck fat toasted pita, chilli and pomegranate glaze & sumac yoghurt

Tom Browne (Decatur)

Kibbeh spiced pork belly boudin-blanc, ‘white trash’ hummus, salgam & zereshk

Miles Kirby (Caravan)

Roast lamb, kimchi slaw, gochujang ketchup & mint yoghurt

Sam Clark (Moro)

Lamb shish, tomato, chilli butter, burnt aubergines, pomegranate, coriander & pine nut salsa

Josh Katz (Shawarma Bar)

Lemon & saffron chicken thigh, crispy chicken skin, green chilli ketchup & smoked garlic tahina


Keeping everyone well hydrated with our own brew, a gold ale with sumac, za'atar & orange on tap all evening as well as serving up Shawarma Bar cocktails such as the Dirty Sultan; La Purite Vedre Mezcal, Campari, Contratto americano, peach liqueur, rose water, grapefruit bitters and the Spy From Cairo; Ron Barcelo rum, pistachio syrup, lime and egg white. There's also our ever changing wine list of natural wines from all over the world.


£29 per person for five mini pitas from each of the chefs and a half pint of our own brew, a golden ale with za'atar, sumac & orange
