Learn traditional couture millinery techniques to make your very own luxury velvet heart shape pillbox hat. A perfect accent to complete your outfit for your romantic dinner or the perfect experience gift for your other half.

In this 5 hour workshop you will learn how to work with flat patterns to create a 3D shape.
Virna will show you how to wire and cover a buckram base in luxury velvet, and demonstrate how to trim with petersham ribbons, veiling and Swarovski crystals using traditional couture techniques.
We supply materials and all basic sewing equipment for this workshop, but please bring your own if you prefer.
Hand sewing skills are an advantage but not essential.

Each class involves in-depth demonstrations, one to one tuition and expert tips accompanied by carefully prepared instructions to take home and practice what you have learned.

Refreshments and some finger food will be provided with a 30 minute lunch break

Please bring along a small box to take away your handmade work.

About Virna:
Virna is a professional milliner with experience in both couture and theatrical millinery. She has worked for a number of influential designers and made hats for award-winning global productions such as Disney’s Lion King and Aladdin. After founding her own company she worked on shows such as Katy Perry’s 2017 Glastonbury performance, designed head-dresses for London's underground burlesque performers as well creating bespoke headpieces for themed wedding, Ascot and other occasions.

Virna loves to share her knowledge and passion for this craft therefore she offers a range of workshops for those wishing to explore the world of millinery. Whether as a beginner, to extend your existing knowledge or just to try something new, our workshops cater for all levels.
