An Online Talk: Photography Beyond the Creative Outlet by Jemma Bannocks ARPS
According to a Forbes article from February 2024, 246 million people worldwide are affected by depressive symptoms and 374 million are affected by anxiety.
Due to long wait lists, lack of access to services, and what treatment is available, people are finding other ways to maintain and improve their mental health.
Jemma Bannocks has been in the care of the NHS Mental Health system since 2003, only gaining a formal diagnosis and treatment plan in 2018.
Describing the process as ‘Therapeutic Photographic Research’, Jemma will share how photography has helped her to express, explore, understand, and accept her mental health conditions.
Please be aware that whilst all images displayed are suitable for all this talk will contain sensitive discussions around Mental Health conditions and how it has affected Jemma, which some viewers may find difficult.
This event is for WIP group members only.
