In 2012 Philco Fiction’s debut album ‘Take it Personal’ received shining reviews from influential music press and top blogs right across the board; all eager to exalt their appreciation of this Nordic duo’s innovative and seductive dream pop.
An outpouring of positive press coverage was followed by worldwide showcases and festivals such as Eurosonic, SXSW, The Great Escape, Iceland Airwaves, Øya, Hove, and Bylarm, as well as tours over Europe.
Philco Fiction sold out shows in Denmark, Germany, UK, France, Belgium and the Netherlands and even extensively toured across China - from east to west, such was the demand for their enthralling new music and live show. Their haunting songs and astral electronic arrangements create a pure form of pop which ‘leaves fluid fingerprints on your soul’ and certainly makes a lasting impression.
They now return with a teaser track from their new album – details TBA. ‘Bodies’ is a piano-driven, RnB-inspired pop chant, which sings of deliberation over bad excuses, good conversation and intimacy, whilst exploring melancholy and how humor can fit into it.
After touring China the pair immediately started working on new material, deciding to experiment, co-write and collaborate. “Alongside exploring new collaborations we’ve been holed up in studio for the last 2 years, patiently working on our 2nd album. The process has been extremely interesting and a bit exhausting, but the result is 10 beautiful pop collages, and we can’t wait to share it with the world. The album is nearly finished and now it’s all about new music, new moves & Philco Fiction. We are so excited” - Turid Alida
Philco Fiction have recently signed to leading independent record label ‘Killing Moon Records’ in the UK.
