PATTERNITY Presents: Patterns of Meaning

From GBP 20.00

May 29 2018 19:30 - 21:30

Join PATTERNITY alongside collaborators Jeremy Lent and Lisa Ferguson to explore the patterns shaping our culture today.

We will begin with a talk with Jeremy about how culture and language shape our frames of meaning, drawing lessons from his book The Patterning Instinct, which investigates how different cultures have made sense of the universe and how their underlying values have shaped history.

This will be followed by a workshop led by Lisa, exploring the idea of a Meaning Map; mapping out the historical, current and future entailments of how we frame meaning around core concepts such as Nature, Health, Economy, Technology.

Connect with key ideas within the PATTERNITY philosophy and ponder questions and ideas that might break your current patterns of thinking…
