    Parenting Talk: Social Media, Mental Health and Resilience - How to be Prepared!

    In this talk, Dr Kathy Weston helps parents be prepared for their children using social media by explaining what is going on in the world of children and young people who are using and enjoying social media. She will discuss the positives as well as the risks associated with this form of media.

    Kathy will signpost parents to the very best evidence-based tips and ensures that they leave the talk feeling more knowledgeable and better able to help their child navigate the digital world.

    Attendees will get the chance to ask questions during this information-packed and motivational evening!

    The ticket includes light refreshments.

    About the speaker

    Dr Kathy Weston is a criminologist and social researcher who is now one of the UK’s leading speakers on all areas of parental engagement in children’s learning. She is passionate about helping parents adopt evidence-based tips that make parenting easier and allow children to thrive. She is married to Charles and is a busy mum to two boys.

    Credentials
    Kathy's doctorate in criminology gives her a unique insight into psychology, sociology and medical anthropology, all of which underpin her work in parenting and behavioural change. Eight years as a research fellow within Higher Education has also developed her interest in parental engagement and its impact on children’s lives...not to mention her full-time job as a mum to two boys!

    Kathy has spent over half a decade co-producing a weekly radio show for parents on Radio Verulam 92.6FM, where she has been lucky enough to interview some of the biggest names in the world of education and parenting.
    She is also a regular contributor to the Huffington Post, a trained Parentzone Digital parenting facilitator and most recently joined a parenting discussion on the BBC Radio 2 Jeremy Vine show.
