Chef Lawrence Gomez, who started his career at the iconic The Ivy restaurant in West Street, draws on his 15 years’ experience working with some of London’s top restaurants, including Sexy Fish and Scott’s in Mayfair, and combines this with his Gambian heritage to bring exciting new flavours to the plate, which he calls “African fusion cuisine”:
“The concept for PAPA L’s KITCHEN and African fusion cuisine is to take modern British food and the classical dining experience and infuse them with high quality, fresh West African flavours to create an authentic social vibe.” Gomez explained.
“Post lockdown in London, connecting with friends and loved ones feels like a privilege not to be taken for granted, so my aim is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for people to bond over food again and enjoy an experience worth venturing out for.”
About Chef Lawrence Gomez
Director and Head Chef, PAPA L’s KITCHEN. Chef Lawrence Gomez is no stranger to catering for A-List celebrities, footballers and high-profile clients. Gomez has created his own African fusion cuisine food concepts and developed his own marinades, using exotic herbs and spices. Previously Head Chef of the “Private Dining Room” at The Ivy restaurant in London’s Covent Garden, Gomez has worked in several top London restaurants and was part of the Caprice Holding Group for 14 years. After leaving The Ivy, Gomez was Sous Chef at Scott’s, in Mayfair, and Sexy Fish. This experienced chef has now designed an exciting seasonal new A La Carte menu for The Gojk.

These include but are not limited to: dedicated hosts at entry, exit and throughout the evening, no menus, contactless ordering via QR Code, temperature checks on arrival, hand sanitisers, track and trace, table service and socially distanced seating.
