Once Upon A Time On Something Street
Take a step into the unknown... then take another and find yourself on Something Street, a place with a touch of destiny, which could be anywhere and anywhen. Are we in the war torn 40s? Or maybe we're celebrating the new millennium? It could be the dawn of the swinging 60s... Maybe. This summer, you are invited to the Marine Parade, (overlooking the iconic, Brighton Pier) which will undergo a metamorphosis into the street where time makes its own rules.
For only a short time, the towering hedges of the mysterious street will appear on the Brighton sea front to intrigue and entertain as you explore each house and discover the secrets of the people who live inside them. They all have a story to tell but you'll soon realise their stories are woven into the patchwork of the street as you begin to unpick the threads connecting them through time. What does their story have to do with you? Perhaps nothing, perhaps everything...
It all happens in a purpose-built set, cut off from the world outside and plunging you into tales of happiness, laughter, loss and regret. Walk down the lamplit pavement in a neighbourhood you've seen before but never really noticed. Dig deeper into the minds of each character by simply asking them a question and find yourself a character in a play you've been a part of since you drew your first breath. Once Upon A Time On Something Street will awaken your imagination and leave you with a smile.
After the show, you can relax and reflect on what on earth you just saw in our specially designed food court, complete with a sea view. We offer flavours as delicious as the scenery whether you have a ticket for the show or not. Like the play itself, our skilled catering staff tear down the fourth wall to cook, before your eyes, a range of different street foods, served still sizzling. Not hungry? Why not relax with a drink from our fully-stocked bar on our very own, private 'Something Beach' and let time stand still once again.
Performances of 'Once Upon A Time On Something Street' are Tuesday to Sunday at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm. On Friday there will be an additional performance at 6pm and on Saturday and Sunday, matinee performances at 2pm and 3pm will also be available.
