Description

Get out of your bedsit, collect your memorabilia, and prepare to dance the night away with an exciting line up of electronic artists:

RATIONAL YOUTH

Rational Youth’s first album, 1982’s Cold War Night Life, became one of the classic LPs of the genre, alongside Depeche Mode’s Speak and Spell and Kraftwerk’s own Computer World.

The album’s title was perfectly chosen: lyrically and sonically, it channelled the tension and neurosis of the superpower conflict, evoking the shadows-and-fog world of fictional spies, George Smiley and Harry Palmer. At the same time, it was able to describe teen romance in Solidarity-era Poland with humour and empathy.

It was pop ahead of its time: Rational Youth sang ”Dancing on the Berlin Wall” a decade before young Germans scaled it to celebrate the end of their political and physical division.

Still making solidly danceable material, Rational Youth have been big draws in Canada and the Nordics. This is their first ever UK show!

PSYCHE

”Their grandiose themes paint the sky, and all that's left to do is lie back and admire the view" - SOUNDS UK, 1986

Best known for their hits "Unveiling The Secret", "Eternal", "Misery", "Sanctuary", "15 Minutes", and their world renowned version of Q Lazzarus' "Goodbye Horses" (which first became famous by its appearance in the movie "Silence Of The Lambs").

To date, Psyche has released 11 full length albums, several compilations, and a DVD entitled "Imaginary Life" which includes video and live appearances spanning the formative years from as early as 1983 up to 2005.

PAGE

Founded in the suburbs of Malmö in 1980, Page were inspired to take up keyboards by Silicon Teens, the alter-ego of Mute Records’ founder, Daniel Miller.

When those records first reached Sweden, 18-year old skateboarder Eddie Bengtsson sold his drum set and bought two Korg synthesizers: one for himself and one for 15-year old Marina Schiptjenko, a classically-trained pianist who had fallen in love with electronic music when she saw Gary Numan playing on Swedish television.

Together, Bengtsson and Schiptjenko created a new template for electronic pop. There have been detours over the decades - Bengtsson founded S.P.O.C.K and Schiptjenko enjoyed commercial success with Vacuum and BWO - but their unmistakable sound has been a fixed mark on the Swedish scene.

With a new release to show off, Page are very welcome back in London - their last appearance was a stormer!
